Neurobash is withdrawing from the collaboration with Lars Vilks
After much deliberation the constellation Neurobash has decided to leave the project DOGS and the collaboration with Lars Vilks. The musical is yet scheduled for an official première in Sweden this autumn - the music written by Neurobash will however not be featured and the YouTube-previews have already been withdrawn. The constellation has refused to make any interviews during the production and redirected all questions to Vilks - this is also now the case.
The only official statement by Neurobash in English, is:
“Neurobash took on the project to write music for Lars Vilks musical DOGS as a natural continuation of the successful previous common musical adventures, and not the least as an interesting creative challenge. Our hope was to, through our contribution, inspire to a constructive debate in regards to the freedom of speech versus art. It is now clear to us that there simply is no room for such a debate in this contect.”
The only official statement by Neurobash in Swedish, is:
“Neurobash antog uppdraget att skriva musik till Lars Vilks’ musikal DOGS som en naturlig fortsättning på tidigare givande samarbeten och en vidare intressant konstnärlig utmaning. Vår förhoppning var att genom vårt medverkande bidra till en konstruktiv debatt rörande yttrandefrihet kontra konst, men det är för oss uppenbart att det helt enkelt inte finns utrymme för en sådan i detta sammanhang.”
